Check out the categories and guidelines below! Video submissions will be judged by conference attendees at the 2024 US HUPO Annual Conference, March 9-13, 2024 in Portland, Oregon. Prize winners must be present to win.

1. Fundamentals of Proteomics:
This can include the basics of what proteomics is, its significance, applications, and an overview of protein structure and function. This could also cover techniques for sample preparation, protein separation, identification, and quantification. It includes methods like mass spectrometry, gel electrophoresis, and various tagging and labeling methods used in quantitative proteomics or how to interpret proteomics data. 

2. Applications and Advancements in Proteomics:
This category could cover specific applications of proteomics in disease diagnosis, treatment, and biomarker discovery (clinical proteomics), the study of protein-protein interactions, post-translational modifications, proteogenomics, and an overview of the latest technologies and advancements in the field.



1. Eligibility: The competition is open to US HUPO members, with one submission per category per person allowed. Collaborative videos are also welcome.
2. Content: Videos should align with one of the categories mentioned above: Fundamentals of Proteomics or Applications and Advancements in Proteomics. Your video should provide accurate, clear, and engaging content relevant to your chosen category.
3. Length: Videos should be approximately 3-5 minutes in length.

4. Originality: The submitted video must be your original work and must not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

5. Video Format: The videos should be high-resolution (at least 720p, but preferably 1080p), in a commonly accepted format such as .mp4 or .mov.

6. Language: All videos should be in English, with clear pronunciation and minimal background noise. Closed captions or subtitles are highly recommended for accessibility purposes.

7. Submission: Videos must be submitted by the provided deadline, including all necessary forms and documents (as defined by the VMO committee). Late submissions will not be accepted.
8. Presentation: The video should be professionally presented. It should be clear, concise, engaging, and suitable for a diverse audience with various levels of understanding of proteomics. Using visuals, animations, or other aids to help explain your concept is encouraged.
9. Evaluation: The videos will be evaluated on their content relevance, creativity, clarity of the message, production quality, and the presentation skills of the participants.
10. Dissemination: By submitting a video, you give US HUPO the rights to use, share, reproduce, display and create derivative works of the submitted video for educational, promotional, and other standard organizational purposes.
11. Awards: Awards will be presented at the 2024 conference. Awardee must be present to win. Commercial (industry) enterprises are not eligible to win prizes.
